ROAD TO THE 2026 AIR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
September 7th – 2025
- Time trial – All racers, approved by the AIR Championships Committee (AIR CC), can sign up to fly the time trail. Each racer flies two laps in the fastest time possible. The 36 fastest times qualify for the Race tournament.
- Race Qualification Tournament – Based on the individual time from the time trials, 6 groups of 6 racers are formed. Through the eight-round tournament, a winner gets determined. The top 15 racers who make it into the Double Semis, are qualified to the 2026 AIR World Championships Race.
January 15th – 2026
- Time trial – All racers, approved by the AIR CC, can sign up to fly the time trial (racers that already qualified for the 2026 AIR World Championships Race through the September event, will not take part in this time trial). Each racer flies two laps in the fastest time possible. The 36 fastest times qualify for the Race Qualification Tournament.
- Race Qualification Tournament – Based on the individual time from the time trials, 6 groups of 6 racers are formed. Through the eight-round tournament, a winner gets determined. The top 15 racers who make it into the Double Semis, are qualified for the 2026 AIR World Championships Race.
- Wild Card – 6 Racers will receive a Wild Card at the discretion of the AIR CC.
January 18th – 2026
- Time trial – Each of the 36 racers, now qualified for the 2026 AIR World Championships Race, flies two laps in the fastest time possible.
- 2026 AIR World Championships Race – Based on the individual time from the time trials, 6 groups of 6 racers are formed. Through the eight-round tournament, we will determine the 1th AIR World Championships winner.
