OVERVIEW

PURSUIT

  • DIFFICULTY LEVEL: BEGINNER

  • COMPETITION MODE: HEAD TO HEAD RACING

    – tunnel gets divided into two / two racetracks, one for each racer
    – each racer starts standing in the starting square of their racetrack
    – on a start signal racers fly off simultaneously, fly their laps and land in the finishing square of their racetrack
    – the racer that lands in his finishing square and remains standing first, wins

  • TOURNAMENT MODE: CLASSICAL TOURNAMENT BRACKET

    – group phase with elimination after a certain number of rounds
    – classical tournament bracket starting with the 16th final

RELAY

  • DIFFICULTY LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE

  • COMPETITION MODE: TEAM BATTLE

    – team against team, a team consists out of two racers
    – tunnel gets divided into two / two racetracks, one for each team
    – racer 1 of each team starts standing in the starting square of their racetrack
    – on a start signal racers fly off simultaneously, fly their laps and land in the finishing square of their racetrack
    – meanwhile racer 2 of each team moves to the starting square of their racetrack and as soon as racer 1 lands and remains standing (!) in the finishing square, racer 2 flies off
    – if racer 1 cannot hold the stand, but racer 2 has already taken off, the team will be disqualified

  • TOURNAMENT MODE: CLASSICAL TOURNAMENT BRACKET

    – group phase with elimination after a certain number of rounds
    – classical tournament bracket starting with the 8th finaL

RACE

  • DIFFICULTY LEVEL: ADVANCED

  • COMPETITION MODE: GENUINE RACING

    – competitors race in groups of five (and in three cases groups of six) flyers against each other
    – racers get ranked according to their crossing of the finishing line
    – ranking within the groups after a round determines the composition of the groups for the following round and in certain rounds if a racer gets disqualified

  • RACE REFEREE

    – the race referee monitors the races and intervenes if necessary
    – when the race referee enters the wind tunnel, the racers must slow down and line up behind the race referee; he determines the lineup of the racers and gives the signal to start the following lap
    – the race referee hands out white and black gloves for offenses that are at his discretion (e.g. flying too close to pylons, skipping pylons, endangering other racers)
    – if a racer receives a white glove, he must line up last
    – two white gloves in a race equal a black glove
    – a black glove results in the disqualification from that race; depending on the round, this means last rank in that race or elimination from the tournament

  • TOURNAMENT MODE: AIR TOURNAMENT BRACKET

    – through an individually flown qualification round 36 racers qualify for the actual tournament
    – the tournament consists out of eight rounds overall and a number of races within each round, that depends on the number of racers that have not yet been eliminated

    special rounds:
    – three rounds of the tournament (“1st cut”, “5 out of 6” and “last finalist”) will be flown with six racers per group

    elimination rounds:
    – “1st cut”: the last ranked racer gets eliminated
    – “5 out of 6”: the last ranked racer gets eliminated
    – “wipe out”: the last two racers get eliminated
    – “double semis – first round”: in this round, the racers ranked first advance to the final, whereas the remaining racers regroup for another race
    – “double semis – last finalist”: only the first racer of each group advances to the final
